What is JR.TECH?

 

JR.TECH is a program of the Cape Cod Technology Council, Inc. JR.TECH’S mission is to reach out to students in grades 5-12 and engage them in  Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM),  showing that these areas of study are both fun and something everyone can be part of. The goal is to both develop a life-long interest in science, technology, engineering and math and to build STEM skills, including broad-based critical thinking, problem solving, collaborative research, and analytical inquiry. These skills are ones our businesses, workforce, and citizens need in order to prosper in our 21st century world. Having a technically literate generation isn’t just the right thing to do, it is essential for the future of our region and our future.

To accomplish this goal, JR.TECH offers fun, hands-on, workshops in a variety of settings. Students enjoy the dynamic, interactive and creative format of the workshops and through this process develop both skills and appreciation for science, technology, engineering and math.
