CCTC Announces Promotion of Jr Tech Coordinator
Barnstable, MA September 10, 2007
Today the Cape Cod Technology Council announced that Phyllis Russell, Jr Tech Program Coordinator, has been promoted to Jr Tech Program Manager.
According to Cape Cod Technology Council CEO Teresa Martin, '"In the last 18 months the phenomenal growth and interest from parents, students and educators in science, technology, engineering and math programs, and the rate of participation in Jr Tech's outside- the- school- day programming has created a need for dedicated staff and continued expansion of the program. We're delighted that Phyllis has agreed to expand and extend her role and be part of the driving force in meeting this important role in our community."
The Jr Tech Program reaches out to students in grades 5-12 with a mix of workshops such as Trebuchet, Photoshop Skillz, and Solar Sprint cars. These classes are designed to teach children learn how to think, explore, and learn. STEM skills such as science, technology, engineering and math are skills that will help students navigate a world of change.
Phyllis Russell spent twenty years in marketing and project management in the technology and publishing industries.
Jr Tech is a program of the CCTC and CCCC, a non-profit partnership promoting technology and business on the Cape, Islands, and Southeastern Massachusetts.
